Thunder Bay Laboratory Expansion Is Complete!
It is our great pleasure to inform you that as of December 2007, the major expansion of our Thunder Bay Mineral Assay Laboratory is complete and the new lab is fully operational. We are very excited about the new facility and our ability to process more than twice as many samples as previously. We are confident that we will be able to return to providing our customers with industry-leading turnaround times, especially during the busy summer and fall seasons. If you would like a tour of the new facility, please call Jason Moore at the Thunder Bay lab (807) 626-1630 or email assay@accurassay.com.
A Word About 2007 As much as we are excited about our future, we wish to thank all of our faithful customers for their patient endurance of our service slowdowns in 2007. We made our service promises in good faith last year and took every reasonable measure to ensure that we would be able to come through on our promises. However, we experienced many significant delays in the delivery of new equipment while experiencing exponential sales growth. This led to the build up of a large backlog of samples which took the rest of the year to clear. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are clear of this now and remain confident that it will not happen in 2008. The Outlook For 2008 We are very excited about what 2008 will bring! We look forward to making use of all of our new capacity from Sample Prep right through to Instrumentation. Here are some of the highlights of what has been happening in the lab over the past year: New Sample Prep Equipment: We have more than doubled the number of crushers and pulverizers in our Sample Prep department. As well, we now have adequate redundancy of machines to virtually eliminate capacity fluctuations due to maintenance downtime. New Furnaces: Accurassay purchased a new high-capacity gas fusion furnace complete with a multi-pour system. This system along with our other furnaces allows us to fuse over 4,000 samples per day. New Instrumentation: We have doubled the number Varian AA240FS Atomic Absorption Spectrometers in the lab and added a new Varian VistaPro ICP OES all complete with auto-samplers and integrated with our LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) to minimize the opportunity for human error. Strategic Management Initiatives: We have been working hard with world-class consultants to implement a number of best-practices within the lab. Programs such as 5S, Total Productive Maintenance and Process Mapping have all had significant impact on how we do business. These programs have strengthened our organization tremendously by improving our productivity, our quality and our reliability. Laboratory Automation: Acccurassay continues to aggressively seek out and implement the latest laboratory automation techniques. Where automation is otherwise unavailable, Accurassay is developing its own automation solution consistent with our fundamental belief that enhancing our productivity forwards our industry as well as our service to our customers. It will improve the reliability of our turn-around times, increase the value of our workers and ultimately benefit our customers with reduced costs and faster service. Sincerely,
